On more professionally run blogs or sites, there are prequels and sequels to blogposts. Unfortunately for the limited few who do brush through my verbal tantrums, this is not one of those blogs. This one is all mine, my precious. I rest these thoughts within my clawed fingers, and they morph slowly into old posts that line the dustless archives of the Internet Ad infinitum.
Pennies- I wrote about the disregard the general mass has for this now obscure copper measure of wealth.

Not to reminisce about pennies gone by, but the below tale exemplifies another resourceful example of the proper management of penny- sorry the now defunct penny. In the 2012 Federal Budget, the Finance Minister Jim Flaherty outlined the demise of the penny, low purchasing power and high production costs culled it's very existence. The penny has devalued to about 1/20th of it's purchasing power in it's century long adventure. The government loses about 11 million in the production and distribution of the pennies and it costs approximately 1.6 cents to produce a penny. The last batch of a million pennies were minted on the 4th of May 2012. These will be introduced as a collectors item.
The introduction of this now collector's item by a penny pincher broke the bank or at least his mortgage. Hats off to you Sir. Unfortunately for the rest of us penny in a vice grip hoarders our days pennies in a bottle days are numbered.

I blogged wearily on the Euro zone issue once. it started lazily with Ireland, Portugal and Greece and now resembles a honeyed bee-hive frantic with activity which has drawn in the big players Spain and Italy.

Two links to the BBC UK website will provide a broad overview to what has ensued since before and after my blog, the links are pretty self explanatory

The clock was ticking then, its ticking now. Minutes, days and weeks wasted in contemplation in political translation and regional wrangling, this has pushed up debt by a few billion. The debt clock links and reviews time, numbers and money counted with a lot of digits -much, much more than the ten fingers that wriggle on our collective 7,025,446,630 palms.

And now I consider myself absolved of these thoughts, and it slowly sinks in this sweet smell of closure.
